Peace Love & Pups is a gathering of animal lovers who come together to support BELLA SPCA and find homes for loving animals. Our event includes a 1.5-mile walk, pet adoptions and low-cost vaccinations, live music, contests, raffle items, food trucks and lots of fun!
Every year in the fall, a gathering of pets and people come together in a beautiful park to celebrate their bond and support Bella. This year is no exception. On Saturday, September 23, 2017, from 9a-3p at Duffner Park (corner of Hefner and May), The Bella Foundation will host A Dog Walk in The Park 2017 – “Peace, Love, and Pups”.
The event begins with a meet and greet of pet owners and their four-legged friends. Next, our 1.5-mile “dog-walk” takes our guests through the city of The Village on a safe route barricaded and marked by the city maintenance department. Our walkers depart the park to the cheers of a crowd recognizing their participation and hard work raising funds to benefit The Bella Foundation. After all of the walkers return to the park, we begin the festival!
What started as a small event 8 years ago has grown into a showcase for dozens of vendor booths. Throughout the day there is always something fun happening for our guests. Multiple rescue groups present amazing pets up for adoption, animal and human product vendors display their items for sale, local agility & training groups show off their skills through demonstrations, and low-cost vaccinations and microchipping are available!
We will have dog pools available for your canine friends to splash around in and cool off!
This year we will also have a children s activities area with free face-painting and fun!
Our event could not be possible without the amazing people who register to walk. Every step taken by our walkers is another dollar raised to help animals. All donations are tax deductible and used to assist low-income pet owners with the cost of pet care when it cannot be afforded.
Every year we receive hundreds of calls for help from people who love their pets but find themselves in a bad situation. By participating in this event, you become the hand that is there when someone reaches out for help.
Registration is $35 to participate, but you can do so much more. When you register to walk you get to create your very own fundraising page. This page can be sent to your friends, family, and co-workers telling them why it is important to you to raise money for Bella. Some of our walkers even create teams and compete with others to raise the most donations. And, just like in previous years the highest fundraiser receives a $100 PetSmart gift card!
Registration is super easy and very secure. We have even created a registration for our fans in other states or for people who cannot attend the day of the event called a “Virtual Walker”. 10:00 am- 11:00 am: 1.5 Mile Walk
11:00 am — 11:30 am: Recognition of highest fundraiser
11:30 am — 3:00 pm: Vendor Fair, pet adoptions, kids activity area, dog activity area.
2:00 pm: Drawing for the Raffle items and closing of the silent auction.
3:00 pm- 4:00 pm: Vendor tear down and clean up
