LE RIDE, from Phil Keoghan (CBS' «The Amazing Race») follows Keoghan and his friend Ben Cornell as they attempt to recreate the original route of the 1928 Tour de France, regarded as the toughest route in the race's 100+ year history.
Averaging 240 kilometres a day for 26 days, Phil and Ben remain faithful to the course and timing of the 1928 race, sometimes riding 20+ hours a day (into the night) to complete each stage. The pair traverse both the unforgiving mountains of the Pyrenees and the Alps — on original vintage heavy steel bikes with NO gears and marginal brakes, taking inspiration from the remarkable true story of three Australians and one New Zealander who, together, became the first English speaking team to compete in the Tour.
Only 41 of the 169 men who started the 1928 Tour de France finished the punishing course. Can Phil and Ben possibly complete this course? Find out, as this extraordinary story of achievement against the odds has never been told on film — until now.
Tell your friends and have them join us for this special screening of Le Ride!
