Individual Artists of Oklahoma - IAO Gallery
706 W Sheridan Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73102
Past photography techniques collide with modern imagery as Individual Artists of Oklahoma host photographer Steven Wilson’s newest exhibit, “Our Saurian Tales.” The show explores people's projections of bias and uncertainly based on perception and features a mix of conventional digital imagery as well as pieces created utilizing the wet-plate collodion process.
Introduced in 1851 by Frederick Scott Archer, wet-plate collodian became the preeminent photography technique during the Civil War. Embraced by only a handful of current photographers, the process uses glass and special chemicals to create an aged look in modern photography. Wilson has been practicing the wet-plate collodian technical process for over ten years and has incorporated it into many of his pieces.
Can't make the opening reception? Don't worry! The «Our Saurian Tales» exhibit will be on display until Oct. 20
