On Feb. 14, there is an interesting collision of two dates- Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day! At Acts 2, we’ve decided to honor both of these in one worship service.
It really works out quite nicely to remember our first love, Jesus, and his ultimate sacrifice for us. It’s this unconditional love that Jesus offers that empowers us to love others. Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent- 40 days of preparation for Easter. On Valentine’s Day, we often celebrate those we love. This Valentine’s Day, you’ll have an opportunity to remember the ultimate act of love and also the love you have for others in your life. If you are married, you’ll have an opportunity to renew your vows as part of this worship service.
The evening will begin with finger foods at 6:11 p.m. (this is sundown when we will break fast together). Worship will begin at 7:11 p.m. Following worship, we will have a wedding reception in the gathering space with cake and punch to celebrate the vows of renewal. As with all worship events, childcare is provided!
