Back by popular demand! We actually had to turn people away from our last Ashtanga Therapy Workshop. We have made a few slight changes and we feel that we can give an even better experience this time! Enjoy the benefit of over 50 years of combined experience! Andrew Eppler, Bryce Delbridge, and Chase Cecil are teaming up to create a one-of-a-kind workshop. This workshop will begin with individual assessments in which we will check the symmetry of each person’s body and determine which areas should be strengthened and which areas need to be stretched and released. A small piece of tape will be placed as a marker to identify the weaker areas… Bryce Delbridge will then lead a sequence of therapeutic movements. We… will use therapy balls to gently release tense muscles. This technique offers effective self-massage that can be precisely targeted to the areas of our bodies that have chronic tension. In addition, Bryce will teach therapeutic muscle engagements to strengthen the weak areas of the body. By consciously activating the weaker areas of the body, encouraging them to engage and work evenly, we can greatly increase our strength and ability in yoga postures. Chase Cecil will use Myoskeletal Alignment techniques to further assess and correct structural imbalances ranging from hip placement to spinal mobilization after the yoga practice to further correct each student taking full advantage of the fact that they are warm and open from the practice.
Time will be taken to ensure that each student understands which areas of their body should be strengthened. Once this awareness is established, the techniques can be applied to almost any yoga posture. Andrew Eppler will lead an asana sequence designed to create internal heat and balance as we put our new information into action. Bryce and Chase will be actively adjusting each student helping them to customize their approach with each posture to maximize their benefits. Bodywork will be given as needed to help mobilize and realign the more difficult areas for each student. In this comprehensive and unique workshop, each student will be encouraged to see deeper into the mysteries of their own body and learn new methods for practicing yoga postures safely and effectively. Ultimately we hope to help everyone to create their own healing, evolving, pain-free and beautiful yoga practice.
